About TaleTok
TaleTok is a horror and folklore project at taletok.com and on TikTok. The site byline is Tales by Red John.
We write short stories from cryptids, urban legends, folklore, cursed items, and scary places. The rule is simple: stay close to the original legend, keep it in third person, and end on the warning people still tell.
On TikTok the work is built to be recorded. Each Cryptid Stories entry has a vertical cover and a spoken tale of about one thousand words. On the site, longer fiction sits under Red John, including Shadows of the Screen and the Royal Nation stories.
Cryptid Stories is released in volumes of ten. Volumes 1 through 6 are complete.
TaleTok is mentioned in Amara Lyric, Unfiltered: My Journey and the Lessons Nobody Tells You About TikTok Success (ISBN 979-8-18943-839-4).
